Frequently Asked Questions

Metro Orlando FL | Kissimmee - Sanford - Leesburg

Heron Home & Outdoor provides exceptional lawn care and pest control services in central Florida. How soon can I water after my property is treated?

With the fall granular fertilization application, watering immediately after the application is recommended. However, if any weed control was applied, wait at least one hour before watering.

If it rains after my lawn application, should I call and have the technician come back and retreat?

If you are concerned that the application may not have been effective due to it getting washed off or mowed too soon, we will set a follow up to check if the weeds are declining. Our weed control must be allowed to sit undisturbed for 1 to 2 hours. If it rains or grass gets mowed within that timeframe, call us and we will set a follow up to check on it in a couple of weeks to make sure the treatment was effective.

An additional application of some herbicides too soon after a previous treatment may cause injury to your turf grass, which is why we cannot set the follow up treatment too early. Our fall granular fertilizer application is the only exception, which can be watered in immediately after being applied.

How soon can I mow my lawn after treatment?

The lawn should be left undisturbed for 1-2 hours after treatment. If granular fertilizer is applied, it should be watered in before mowing.

How soon can I let my pets and children on the lawn after treatment?

Our liquid application should be allowed to completely dry which typically takes 1-2 hours.

How long does it take for the weeds to die?

Some weeds die faster than others. Weaker weeds may begin to wither in as little as 3-5 days. However, the more difficult to control weeds may take up to 4 weeks to be fully controlled. Depending on severity of the weed infestation, our technicians will set additional follow up treatments as needed.

How safe are your indoor pest control treatments for my pets and children?

We use state of the art technology pesticides, which are not only more effective but also least toxic.
Our pest control products are placed strategically in areas that are inaccessible to children and pets.
